Default STX Door Panel Arm Rest Upgrade

New pad installed
Love my '18 STX Screw. However there are a few things that bugged me like the hard rubber coated arm rests on the door panel and the center console. Already added the Platinum center console. Found arm rest pads on eBay and replaced the STX pads with Platinum pads. Thought I'd throw this out there if anyone else was looking to do the same thing.

Here's the link to the console lid:

I made an offer below asking price and he accepted it.

The arm rest pads were from the same seller so if you look at his other stuff for sale you'll find the pads. I offered below asking on the pads too and he accepted it.

Edit: I see the platinum arm rests listed.

Nice find.

Yes from a platinum. Try contacting him to see if he can get more. I honestly I don't know where he gets this part because Ford only sells whole door panels and not these individual parts. You could go with the lariat pads, it's far enough from the console lid where you wouldn't notice a difference.

They're held in by plastic posts that are melted into place, looks like a plastic "donut". You drill out the center of the "donut" then use a screwdriver or flat blade to pop off the rest of the plastic. It was actually very easy to do. To reattach them I used a Dremel VersaTip Gas Soldering Torch with the soldering tip attached. I got the idea from this Youtube video on how to do it:

Mine didn't come out as clean as his. After you melt the posts down you have about 30 seconds while the plastic is still soft and you can shape it and push it down to keep things tight. Only tip is use a fan because the heated plastic gives off a strong smell.
