Default This is stupid...

Why does my truck do this. I used to own a '96 F250. Simple, everything worked the way it should. Bought a '18 F150 Lariat that technically its a computer on wheels. But its got a few things that I just have a hard time understanding.
My vista roof won't open if I've got the headlights on. So that means if I'm traveling and I want to open it up and its dark, then I have to pull over, turn my lights off, and then retract OR close. Doesn't make any sense.
Then, if I want my mirrors folded in when I'm parked, when I unlock the doors and open them to get in the rails come out then go back in immediately to storage. If I leave them out and unlock the doors, they come out once I open the doors and stay out until I close the doors. Haven't had a chance to change it to Lincoln style yet. But these are 2 of the things that just don't make sense. Is this normal for Fords to do?

None of the things you describe are normal. You need to scan for DTCs, and there is definitely one or more problems, maybe wiring (including grounds) and maybe one or more modules. These vehicles are prone to having weird issues if there are low voltages, especially during engine crank. Load test the battery and check all grounds and battery terminals.

Did you buy it new? My '18 KR does none of these things. Perhaps the previous owner screwed up the programming via Forescan.

Nope, bought it used. Maybe he did. My neighbor who used to work for the Feds and has a PhD in electrical engineering is going to try to do some things with me in Forscan. So we'll see. I think he said he had something to do with the Can system. Anyway, maybe it needs programming to reset it.
