Default Stuck speedometer

Hello I’m new here I just bought a 2015 f150 and the speedometer needle got stuck at 40 mph and doesn’t go any lower but it does go up and the digital speedometer seems to be correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Just a guess, but some of the ic resets and engineering mode trigger a needle sweep, and they bounce for a little at the end. Wonder if this would help you out. Research how to put your particular cluster into engineering mode. I think I was also able to get them to sweep using forscan, but I don't remember what function.

MikeW82,

2015-2020 F150. I look in Eng. Mode 2 or 3 times a month.

Key in, but ignition switch off.
Press and hold Left "OK" button on steering wheel.
Continue to hold "OK" and turn ignition switch to "ON" (I don't have it, but pushbuton start is pressed without brake pedal)
After 3 doo-doo-doos, your drivers display should read "Engineering Mode" on a black background.
The display lights/guages/meters all go to full value, then the needles return home.
Use UP/DOWN arrow keys to navigate the menu (BATT VOLTS is one I use to check for drop during crank).
You may start the engine to see activity, but some readouts are in crypto hexadecimal speak.
To exit Eng Mode, press "OK" for 3 seconds or turn off ignition.

it took a couple tries, but he got it back to zero and now it seems to be working fine. Thanks
