Default Strange Event

Very Strange event Happened today. 2018 F150 Special Edition 5.0 with AMP power running boards. 4200 miles. Opened the driver door today and nothing, no lights, inside or out, no running board deploy, nothing. Like having no battery. What the Hell! Closed the door and then reopened and everything back to normal. Battery is good and strong. Thought about not closing the door all the way previously but if that was the case, the power board would not have closed. Never had any thing like that on any Ford car or truck I have had. Any Ideas ??

.....Thought about not closing the door all the way previously...
Why would you not close the door all the way?

I meant maybe by accident that it might not have closed 100% but did latch. Just a thought. No real indication that this was the issue.

When you open the door, what causes all the lights to come on, ladder to drop down, chimes to start a'chim'in?

That's right, the door pin switch.

Simple mechanical switches that can fail, or occasionally get crap in them that prevents the contacts from, uh, contacting.

X2. Door switches have been a known problem in earlier F150s for years.
