I have a 2018 F150 XLT with a 60/40 front bench so I don't have a console. At the bottom of the center stack of the dash is a little storage area that drops down when you push it. It appears to be for electronic devices because there's a cutout for a wire on the front. This area isn't deep enough or wide enough for my phone. I'm wondering if I could just remove the drop down storage box so I can just shove my phone into the lower cavity. I haven't found any obvious ways to remove it. I don't like the rectangular cutout on the center arm rest as my phone constantly slides off. I don't need to see my phone when I'm driving.
