Default Sticking lock - same issue as latch problem?

I know there's a sticky for the frozen door latch and I read post #2 and a bunch of others. I'm creating a separate thread because I have no new news to report and don't want to further pollute the sticky thread, but do need to see if I have the same issue. My truck was not built in Dearborn (K code) and Ford tells me it's not part of any TSB or recall (though, they sent me a TSB letter). However, anytime it freezes, at least two doors will not open until they warm up. Upon further inspection, it appears the door locks themselves won't fully engage (up or down) until thawed. Is this the same issue? I owned the truck in FL until this year - moving to AK - so I never had the issue. Now, it's constant. I think I'm going to wait until winter again so they can duplicate it - and hopefully, come up with a good solution.

yes, it is the same issue. moisture gets inside the lock actuator and once it freezes it prevents operation. One way around this which worked often for me was to manually operate the locking rod by hand a few times. it seems to loosen it up and get it moving again. This is much easier on the rear doors compared to the front due to the shape of the ****. Or, like you said, once you drive down the road a bit it will thaw.

i live in Ketchikan so it isn't as frequent, but still aggravating as hell. i did have my truck in Seattle this past winter so the Ford dealer there did every possible "fix" ford calls for, including sealant around the door handles...... which, i wish they used white sealant, since their work is quite obvious on my tri-metallic truck!
