Stereo static source: Accessory power. How to fix?
I've been troubleshooting a 4.3" stereo upgrade all weekend.
I have two problems that I'm sorting out, but I think that I've got one figured out.
There's static in the speakers when the truck is turned off but the radio powered up.
On a hunch, I connected both connected the two twelve volt inputs to the key power. Nothing changed.
I then wired up the 12 volt constant as normal, but connected the turn on power to directly to the battery. The problem went away.
How can one get clean turn on power??
I should mention that I've tried using both the factory/PAC harness and then a separate add-a-circuit to the passenger area fuse panel (#36).
