Default Steering Wheel Controls Issues

Wondering if anyone has run into issues with their steering wheel controls. I originally thought the buttons may be wearing out as it would skip a song when I was trying to adjust the volume, the up arrow on the left side of the steering wheel would navigate to the right on the instrument cluster, you name it. I couldn’t get the right button to do the right task half the time. I replaced these with new OEM spec controls and the same issues are occurring. Not sure what the issue could be. Any help or experience with the same issue is appreciated.

I am having a similar issue on my 17 Lariat, but only when using apple play. When I try to turn the volume up on the steering wheel the truck changes source, like goes to AM radio. I have to turn it up using the volume ****. I can use the same button while just using bluetooth with no issue, but for whatever reason when I am on apple play, the volume button is acting as a source button

Interesting. It may be the same way for me, but I always use Apple CarPlay so I haven’t tried to see if it’s working fine with Bluetooth or radio. I’ll try that this evening.

I've seen other posts about issues with the buttons on the steering wheel and it has always come down to the clockspring. Do a quick search. Mine has just started acting wonky too so I will be gong down that road as well...

Good luck.

Good morning. Would you please send over a private message with your VIN and dealer info so I can look into this concern with your steering wheel controls?
