Default Steering Wheel Controls

I have a 2017 F-150 XLT, 3.5 Eco. I'm having issues with the steering wheel controls not functioning correctly. The IPC and radio controls don't work as their suppose to. The right arrow may move up and the OK button may move left, the volume button may change the radio source and so on. It never seems to be the same. This is intermittent and can be fixed by shutting the truck off and opening and closing the door. Basically it'll work the next time I get in, but sometimes it will fix itself while I'm driving. This may happen a few times a week. I did change out the steering to a Raptor style, but that was several years ago. I changed the buttons on the IPC controls since I had a spare from the other steering wheel before I realized it was on both sides of the wheel. So far I haven't seen the cruise or the phone controls affected, but that doesn't mean they're not. No warning lights come on the dash but I do get a DTC for SCCM communication error if I look for codes. I pulled the steering wheel off the other day and check all the connection, it worked for about two weeks and now it's acting up again. I was thinking it may be the clock spring. Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks

This same thing happens to me. 2017 platinum 3.5. I’ve never changed anything and it seemingly happens at random. Interested to see if anyone else has an idea.

Not really on Fords but on Jeeps all the time. The clock spring will cause all kinds of goofy problems with the steering wheel controls.

Mine does the same thing, I bought new switch and that did not fix the problem. Im guessing it's the clockspring, but I also read somewhere that someone else said they had to switch out one of the control modules in the steering column.
