Default Steering wheel control issue

I just started having an issue with the steering wheel controls on my 2016, It only seems to affect the controls on the left side for the cruise control and instrument panel display. The first thing I noticed was the direction and select buttons doing the wrong things. The center select button would go back and the right button would select. Some other variations too but all wrong. Then the cruise control buttons began working only intermittently. My first thought was the clock spring but since the horn and radio controls work fine (and there's no airbag light) I'm starting to wonder if it's the button module itself or something with the computer (making the assumption those controls are on the CANBUS).

Has anyone run into this before? Any suggestions or thoughts?

Thanks!

Likely the clockspring. It is common for not all the circuits fail at the same time. The steering wheel buttons are hard wired through the clockspring to the SCCM. The SCCM communicates over the HS2-CAN bus. Cruise Control (unless you have Adaptive Cruise Control) is handled by the PCM which communicates over the HS1-CAN bus and several LINs. The IPC communicates over HS3-CAN bus.
