Default Steering Column problem

So I just traded my 18 ram in for a 19 F-150 lariat. The truck had 24 miles on it when I bought it. I purchased it and drove off the lot and at mile 42 to my truck was not steering right. I had to put a lot of force into steering it and finally I hear a snap. The truck was steering normally expect the steering column wobbles around now. I am assuming this white piece is suppose to sit in the hole so this probem does happen.

That was a factory stop they forgot to remove. All the trucks have wobbly steering.

JK.

Checked my truck and I don't see that white piece from your pic. It looks like mine is up in the shaft.

Going have to say take it back.

You can see where the tooth at the top is bent upward too from when it was forced free, or maybe when it was installed. New guy on the assembly line?
