Default Steering column electronics dead

I started my 2016 F150 XLT yesterday and nothing on the steering column works, none of the menu functions, volume control, turn signals, not even the bright lights control. The only this working is the horn. Any idea where I can start looking for the cause? Anyone else experience this?

Start by checking BCM Fuse-13 (7.5 A) which provides power to the SCCM (Steering Column Control Module). If you have FORScan or access to a high-end diagnostic tool (not an OBDII code reader) perform a DTC scan of the SCCM.

The fuse checked good so I decided to go to my son's place (he has a FORSan) when I started it up everything started working. We ran the scan anyway and the only history was a couple of "lost communication with SCCM. I guess I will just continue with it and see if it acts up. Maybe time for a new SCCM? UGH!

Thanks for your help.
