can you elaborate on the sound? is it plastic or metal? inside the cabin or under the hood etc.
Thanks,

More like a plastic sound, but hard to tell. Sounds like it is actually in the steering wheel. From where it mounts to the column and then towards the drivers seat. Hope that makes sense.

The clock spring could make a clicking sound.

I just noticed it this week. I found that when turning wheel and putting pressure with my hand into the wheel it clicks. If I turn and push on the wheel I can recreate it. Mine doesn't click if I turn the wheel without pushing into it. Driving me crazy

Update
It seems to be doing it more often and does it without applying pressure on the wheel. The truck does seem to only do it when moving. Won't do it when parked

It's driving you crazy, hasn't gone away and you haven't taken it to the dealer to be repaired (hopefully) under warranty because....

Because......I have a job that requires me to be there (including weekends) AND....it is currently only an annoyance that has not affected performance. I would prefer to have more information so I don't have to make multiple trips to dealer. So I get on an online forum to ask questions and become informed

If anyone is wondering, just had the truck fixed. Ended up being the steering shaft. Noise gone. Replaced under warranty.

I know this is an older thread, but I have the same issue on my 2018. I just dropped it off at the dealer this morning to have the infamous frozen door latch repair done and mentioned the clicking noise in my steering column to them. Hoping they are able to fix that at the same time.

Well, had my truck back in for the same issue. Again. When they first did the job, they replaced the steering shaft. That seemed to work for a bit, but the noise was back. Finally got around to letting the dealer have it for a couple days and it ended up being the clock spring. All feels right again and no more "clicking".
