For those using the Car Link celluar interface module with Start-X remote start - I installed the Start-X. It works great with the key FOB. I then connected the Car Link 7. This is the one they list on their site to go along with it. Actually, they sent me the new/updated version. The module lights are on and I can see the truck location while using the app but it doesn't start.

There was just one wire to connect the cell module so I don't think that is the problem. The app asked me what I was connecting the module too (it can be used with many remote starts). Start-X wasn't in the list so I pickled something random.

Anyone have experience/suggestions? I tried contacting each manufacturer but haven't heard from them yet.

 

Did you grab the Fortin Flashlink device to program the Start-X module to communicate with the Car link unit? The following thread should help you out.

Start-X suggested the Car Link until so I didn't think I would need anything else. Just ordered the Flashlink device after reading your reply. A rep from Car Link sent me a message a little while ago. Waiting to hear back from him now.
