Default Stake Pockets

Before I cut the plastic out from the front pockets on a 2019 5 1/2' bed rail caps can someone tell me if the sheet metal "lower pocket" is in there like the rear pockets. The "lower pocket" stabilizes actual stakes so they do not flop around.

In the past I custom made stakes to fit pocket width, length and depth which seems to work out well.

Thanks

GD

No, there are not any "bottoms" in the front stake pockets like the rears have on a 2019, 5 1/2 foot bed. Weight of side boards will be supported by the plastic bed caps in front and side to side stability must be provided by section covering the rear window of the truck. To bad Ford did not include "bottoms" in fronts but to be expected as no hole in plastic is provided and each bed with out "bottoms" will save money for them.

In my case with incidental use should work out OK, not as nice as old F150 but OK.

Just FYI for anyone wanting to make a short bed truck more useful for hauling.

PS: Clips on plastic bed caps will break off even when "hot" when removing them, plastic is very thin on clip legs.
