Default Spray In Rear Wheel Well Liner

Went ahead and did the rear wheel well spray in liners today. Used the 3M Professional Grade Rubberized Undercoating. Took the time to take the wheels off and tape off the wheel well. Definitely more effort than the plug and play plastic liners from Husky or Ford but I spent $18 at Autozone for 2 cans of the undercoating vs $100+ for the drop in liners. If you have 2-3 hrs this is a cheap mod to cut down on rear noise and clean up the look of the rear wheels. Don't forget to pull the 10mm bolt and cover the threaded opening of the wheel well with painters tape.

I did the same thing but the lazy way. I just sprayed with the wheels on and didn't tape anything off. Lol. But I love the look and it does help with dampening the sound of rocks. Great job. It looks great.

Did you have to sand down the area before applying?

Didn't sand anything down. Just cleaned everything really well and then let it dry before applying the undercoating.

Exclamation

Here is the pic.

Did the same exact on my Silverado (except that I did sand down the entire wheel well, prime it, then coat it with about 3 coats). The wheel well is made a little different (and yeah, its square). It came out a lot better than the F150 one. All I wanted in the F150 is to cover the body color from red to black.

Looks great. This is my favorite cheap, easy mod so far. I did mine last week with semi-gloss Rust-Oleum black, paint/primer all in one. I was also looking a the Husky liners. I thought I would try this first. Glad I did.
