Default Spotify No Longer Shows up in App Link

Last Thursday afternoon, I got in my truck to go home and tried to use Spotify on the App Link, like I have dozens of times, and Sync 3 would not detect it. It works in the bluetooth connection, but that doesn't have the functionality of AppLink.

Some things I noticed that changed at that time:
1. When my phone connects to my truck, I get a notification that "Smart Link is Connected". Never saw this before.
2. Spotify had just updated that day, along with Android Auto.

Applicable Data: Sync 3 Version 1.0, Spotify 7.0.0.1369, Samsung Galaxy S7, Android 6.0.1

I suspect that either the update to Spotify or Android Auto has changed the way my phone connects to the system now, But I'd like some confirmation or another explanation from the Ford team that monitors this site.

2016 XLT 302A here as well. I've had problems with Spotify since DAY one. I just chalk it up to sync being junk, like it was on my '14. what usually works for me, play Spotify through phone (then through Bluetooth on radio), then search for new apps, and it should appear. pain in the *** though.

Did that. I really think this is some change to Spotify or Android Auto itself. What has me puzzled is this Smart link thing that shows up on my phone when it connects.

I also have a 2016 XLT 302A sport Blue Flame and a GS7 and my Spotify works perfectly.

The Spotify app has been so unstable that I've stopped using it for awhile and just run it via Bluetooth.

I did, however, Check tonight and can confirm that my Spotify app is no longer showing up either. I made sure the app was running and rescanned multiple times with no success. I also rebooted my phone and turned the truck on/off but still no luck.

I agree it was most likely some recent update that is the culprit. Honestly, I'm just waiting for verification 2.0 and AA to hopefully resolve all these issues.

Yep I lost my Spotify as well thought it was just me. I also lost my ford app though so maybe not the same issue.

Same here. I had spotify this weekend for sure. Today mine was also gone. The "Apps" on the sync 3 have always been sketchy though. I wish they just appeared and weren't reliant on the phone to display the apps. I typically just play music on whatever app - podcasts, music, iheartradio, spotify, amazon music, etc... and then play via bluetooth to the receiver.

I am also having this problem. Spotify worked perfectly for me for a few months since I bought my truck (August, 2016 XLT), but recently SYNC 3 does not detect it as an app. Frustrating because my free Sirius trial is almost up and I was hoping to just use Spotify but it is a nuisance controlling it on my phone (not to mention illegal).
