Just pulled this from my manual

Recommended Shift Speeds for Maximum Fuel Economy
Upshift according to the following chart:
Upshifts when accelerating
Shift from:
1 - 2 11 mph (18 km/h)
2 - 3 18 mph (29 km/h)
3 - 4 25 mph (40 km/h)
4 - 5 30 mph (48 km/h)
5 - 6 43 mph (69 km/h)

Operating at High Speeds
Equipped with the SVT Track Pack, your SVT vehicle is capable of
sustained high speeds and track day driving. All Shelby GT500’s are
equipped with tires rated for the vehicle’s maximum speed. Remember to
drive safely, obey all traffic laws and only operate your SVT vehicle at
high speeds at locations equipped and designed to do so safely. Before
operating your vehicle at high speeds, follow these guidelines.
• Verify your tires have the correct tire pressures (see Tires in this
supplement).
• Inspect wheels and tires for wear and damage. Replace any damaged
wheels or tires.
• Do not operate your vehicle at high speeds with more than two
passengers or while carrying cargo.

1,300 rpm in 6th is fine if you are just cruising, no traffic, no slowing / accelerating. but hey, that's why you have a manual... a 6-2 / 6-3 downshift should get you out of the way fast enough, I know I loved to do that

I might have done a 5th to 3rd shift at 75mph when someone was wanting to get me moving a little faster. Lets just say it is better then Sport mode on the 150.

Sport mode's fun, but the braking can be a little a$s puckering. I know it's supposed to favor engine braking, but there's a number of times when I really do want the brakes to function normally! :P

I've actually only noticed a 1-2mpg drop in economy over time. If I only hammer it all the time, yeah, it gets single digits, but if I cruise with it and just use it for the snappier shifts, lunges and such, it's almost normal.

I can't imagine any shelby owner up shifting to 6th@ 43mph. I have cruising at 70 but i lowered my gears to 373's. The sport mode is pretty cool on these new trucks. Does a pretty darn good burn out. Just had to try it.

Default Sport mode low gear

Is this normal? I have the 3.5EB by the way
Not sure but mine stuck in 2nd gear going 50 mph using sport mode. It won't go up in gear as it seems to want you to go faster. It's good for luanching but not good for fuel economy, normal driving!

Mine does similar things, sticks in 2nd - 3rd gear and won't upshift. I've also had it stuck in 5th and cruising at 75mph and it never did go into 6th even when letting off the gas and coasting. I tend to only use Sport when racing from stoplight to stoplight in town.

I have only played with sport mode a few times. I have a 200 HP motorcycle if I want to get thrown back into my seat.

Sport mode changes the brakes? I thought it only changed transmission shift points.

I like and enjoy Sport Mode as well. I called a couple of dealerships and was told that I shouldn't drive in it all the time. Anybody know if driving/keeping it in Sport Mode is harmful to the truck. I have the 2.7
