Default Speedometer ahead 30mph???

All of sudden today, my speedometer is ahead my 30 mph. When I come to a complete stop the needle stays at the 30 mark. My truck has a 6" lift with 35's. The lift was done back in December. The issue just began today.

Does anyone know if upgrading tire and rim size voids the speedometer warranty? I'm not familiar with correlation between tire size and the speedometer.

I'm taking the truck in for service tomorrow but would like to be armed with as much information as possible.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

Thanks

My speedometer was off when I got a rancho 4 inch lift with toyo 35s. I took it to the dealer and they told me the only option to fix this was to have a tuner installed so it could recalibrate the speedometer. Not sure if this is true, but that's what they told me.

Forscan will reprogram it, but it sounds like something else happened. If it was a mis-cal, it would be off by a percentage, not a fixed amount.

The only thing that makes a warranty repair not covered is if the dealer can prove that the changes you made caused the failure.

They have to replace the whole instrument cluster. Common problem. Happened to mine as well. You'll notice over the night it will likely start to drop back to "0mph"

If it was from the lift/tires it would be reading slower than you're going.
Will the lift void the warranty? Hopefully not.
