I've yet to hear a Ford OEM speaker worth wasting 5 minutes of my time to use as an upgrade...and the SONY ones are no different.

And if taking a few minutes to remove a door panel is too difficult, perhaps your local Toyota dealer has a nice Prius for you.

You obviously haven't heard the Sony system from Ford or read the numerous complaints from people about the quality of it. I've got about $250 in all my speakers & the sound quality will by far BLOW AWAY any factory system. It just took a little elbow grease & know how to do it.
Any factory system or any ford factory system?? I am guessing that adding new 6x9's and no amp is not going to blow ALL factory systems.

You're right.....let me clarify myself in saying that by me adding top of the line Infinity 6x9's, 6.5" & 3.5" speakers still won't compare with a stock Rolls Royce sound system.....is that better. But just a little tidbit for you, replacing factory 4-6 ohm speakers with 2 ohm speakers is like adding a small amp to your stock system without the wiring headache.

Those kicker speakers are garbage. When replacing door speakers look at the DB sensitivity rating. The higher the better, along with OHM rating & RMS power.

Probably even less time to just cut out the proper size mdf. Keep your stock speakers for when you trade in vehicle.

I am wanting to upgrade my speakers soon, was out here trying to figure out what everyone is using. Do you mind sharing the speakers you got for the back and center also? Anyone know are the speaker sizes the same for the SCAB as the SCREW? I looked at Crutchfield and the are recommending 6.5 for the front of my SCAB.

I was going to do exactly what you did, but I decided to just gut the factory mounts as to not drill holes in my door & be able to use all factory connectors. Not really worried about losing the speakers if I get rid of it.
