The white part slides back about half an inch.. push down on the middle finger on the clip and then slide it away from the cop. Do this gently.

I tried pushing down on the white middle part after sliding it back and still nothing is there a special trick to the trade there's plenty of videos on YouTube on how to get the red connectors off but not the white and they do indeed look different.

It looks like they have changed the design. On my 2015 5.0, to release the red retainer clips, you press on the connector where the red arrow is pointing:

I do not have that design but what I think is:
push the entire plug connection further in (just to relieve pressure on the locking tab).
push down on the white bit that sticks out furthest (I think that's the finger being described)
Hold the white finger thing down while sliding only the white part out. I'm guessing the white part slices within the clip, and the finger part prevent that.
Once the white part is clear, you can wiggle the actual connection apart.
Those could be brittle parts depending on how long it's been exposed to heat an age. Patience will be your friend.

I expect once the white tab is released, it will be slide back near the wiring in the as-shown empty space. A gap will then be created from the white sliding bit to the end opposite the wire.

Unrelated -take your time loosening the coil hold down bolt also. There have been a few threads lately where that bolt breaks during removal.

One more, once the red retaining clip is pulled back, press on the same place again to release the connector from the coil:

I made a quick video of what to do. Take a pen or a small screwdriver and push in and up on the middle of the white connector. Sorry for my hand being in the way, it's hard to video and undo the clip at the same time.

Once I pulled the white latch thing back, I used a fine pick tool just under the two junction parts - connector and coil - to free the connector further. Might help someone.
Also, re: the mention of the coil hold down bolt heads snapping off, they do rust and I have removed and replaced them using the antiseize on the threads- this worked great as no problem encountered when changing spark plugs a year later. Small job if you have a couple of minutes.
