Just a little $785 souvenir from my long weekend trip Iowa to TX over the weekend. Had the truck (2020 F150 Lariat 5.0 Super Crew 4x4) 4 months with about 2900 miles on it, coming thru a road construction zone driving about 25MPH when one of the construction semi's (with load un-tarped) went flagging by me in the opposite direction and left me this little beauty. I spit out a rage of cuss words only a sailor would know (no offense to sailors since I'm retired Navy veteran)...didn't help much. Luckily my insurance has full "factory" parts replacement which includes full windshield coverage with no deductible...so at least I'm not out any cash.

I feel your pain. I'm on my third windshield this year and this one is currently cracked as well. Wife's 2019 VW has got a cracked windshield and my son recently bought a Jeep and yup, his windshield is cracked as well. The roads here in Tucson are in a constant state of repair and the windshields carry the brunt of it.

The construction company is liable - should've turned around and had a discussion with them. BTW, dashcams are great for stuff like this.

Arizona is one of those states where glass is typically covered by insurance due to the extreme heat. That was the case when I lived there and never had any issues getting mine replaced through the insurance company.

If you think it may happen again consider a transparency replacement coverage. Beats having another claim on your insurance. Really sucks on a new truck.

I live in Houston, which from the time I can remember we have had construction somewhere on our highways. I can't go a month without something hitting my windshield. Sucks I know, so I feel your pain.

Luckily that is a clean star. Getting it professionally fixed you should barely see it.

I've had a few windshield dings in the past year. My insurance (and I believe this is mandated by Minnesota state law) allows for unlimited windshield replacement or repair claims with no impact on insurance coverage or rates. I guess I'd rather have the rocks dinging my windshield than my paint.

Yeah I know, no place in the construction zone to turn around or I would have.

I actually got 2 rock chips on the trip (both in the same construction area), the first on the way down was under a quarter size (which my repair guy said he could fix), but this one is almost 1/2 dollar size (it's bigger than the photo reflects) and my guy said he couldn't repair that one, therefore windshield replacement.
