Default Something is loose

Hey all. So, got the RC leveling kit successfully installed last week, drove the truck home, and hadn't driven it again until today(My wife went into labor Monday morning and we had a beautiful baby gir!)...So driving it today, heard a very pronounced "clunk" coming from the front end when traveling at slow speeds and going over bumps. It happens in both 2wd and 4wd. If I continuously jerk the wheel left and right quickly it happens non stop with the weight transfer. Upon getting out of the truck, I went to driver side, bounced suspension up and down, nothing. Passenger front side, bouncing it up and down, there's the clunk. It's dark and raining here right now so going to investigate further tomorrow, but was wondering if anyone here maybe had an idea or similar experience. I will check all bolts for tightness tomorrow.

Congratulations on the baby!

for your truck, perhaps your first sentence is inaccurate. Success might not have been had. Anyhow, i would start like you said by checking all the bolts. Look in the engine compartment where the strut bolts run, see if maybe those didn't get tightened. Give it all a look over and post back so we get get to specifics based on what you find.... good luck!

you are correct about the "success" part lol, but I only meant success as in it successfully went in and went back together, as the first place I brought it to couldn't even get the front end back together. But, nonetheless, will update tomorrow!

Haha, no, he couldn't get the front end back together with the level installed. He had to remove the spacers to pput it back together.

Check the sway bar links, upper and lower ball joints and strut bolts.

I just installed a RC 6" lift. This is what I would start with.

Local truck shop that installed my level kit scheduled a second visit after 30 days to make sure everything was tight with no suspension noises or other issues. The second visit is free of charge and only took 30 minutes. Seems like cheap insurance for them and a reminder that issues happen when dealing with suspension upgrades.

Normally the instructions will say to check bolt/nut tightness after X amount of miles and it is good practice to do anyway after working on suspension mods.
