Default Smoking at startup

So my 2017 f150 2.7l had been smoking like crazy at start.

The dealership just said nothing we can do and gave me to truck back....

Anyone face this? I was told fuel injected motors just do that, first vehicle I have ever seen do that.

What color smoke? Mine does nothing like that at start up, neither did our 16 we just turned back in after almost 3 years. (both 2.7's)

Are you the original owner? Has oil been changed per schedule or cheaper oil used, sometimes sludge in an engine can do that.... could get a cleaning treatment and try. Another option could be worn seals on valve guides..... if under warranty I’d definitely not take the dealerships answer.

Yeah I'm the original owner, dealership oil changed on due dates. Has 45000km on the truck.

Yeah I'm not going to walk away on this. Something is wrong. I phoned Ford and opened a case. I'll upload a video later.

You could force the dealer to fix the engine. The smoking on the 2.7L is apparently related to bad bearing seals on the turbos.

If it's smoking from a cold soak and there's no measurable oil consumption nothing the dealer can do at the moment.

So just an update on this. Ford has changed from saying no fix the moment to this a "Normal Characteristic". That is unbelievable. How is smoking at startup normal??? Who would be ok with a brand new truck doing that? I'm feeling really bad about my purchase.

Yeah, it sucks. Not normal to have an modern engine smoke like a clapped out junker. I'm trying a heavier viscosity oil to see if it makes a difference. So far so good but it's still early.
