Default Slight delay shifting to reverse

Anyone have this? My 18 did it and 19 does too so guessing so. Back out of a parking spot and shift to drive and touch the gas and half a second later the truck completes the shift to D from R and you get a little bump as the transmission gets the power put to it... just checking. Sort of annoying to have to wait just a second and not sure why this is (4 chevy’s I had before this didnt).

This cost me a tailgate once in my 2016. It's my first automatic trans that is mine and an alzheimers patient backed into it before it completed shift from reverse to drive. I was creeping so slowly a stick trans would have saved the tailgate.

If you are still rolling when shifting from reverse to drive, it is normal for the trans to be delayed. Try being at a complete stop and shifting to see if it goes right in to gear.

Normal. If you are still rolling and shift then give it gas it'll rev up like a standard with the clutch pedal pressed - don't ask.
