Default Skid plate missing??

Hello. Bought a used 2020 F150 4×4 and I think it's missing a factory skid plate.... based on these pictures, can someone tell me if it is indeed missing something? These were taken behind the front tire. Looks like there are places where something should mount.

It's a Platinum 4×4. I'm guessing not an FX4?

Ok..looks like you are missing some extra protection. I have a Lariat 4x4 with FX4 package and I have factory skid plates.

Check out the thread below:

Hope that points you in right direction.

This article will help as well and once you start modding check out my posts on an additional aftermarket skid plate you can add for cheap.

You are missing a skid plate, the undercarriage looks pretty clean, it could have been removed for service and not re-installed. There should be 4 skid plates. 1- "front" one, aluminium protects the front diff and steering rack, 2- under the engine and tranny a hard board type, 3- aluminium, the transfer case, 4- plastic hides the fuel tank. Good luck

OP’s truck is NOT an FX4 (and thus will not have the larger steel front skidplate, nor the transfer case skidplate nor the fuel tank skidplate), as you can plainly see the OE soft fibrous “cover” under the front part of the engine in photo #3 hanging down near the RF wheel. We know his truck doesn’t have the FX4 package because FX4-equipped trucks do NOT have this fibrous front cover.

So the only OE “skidplate” he’s missing is the accursed soft fibrous “diaper” that would normally be found underneath the transmission oil pan on all non-Raptor F150’s, regardless of whether or not they have the FX4 package. You can clearly spot one of the side “L” brackets for that diaper in the foreground in photo #6, as well as the now-empty front bracket for the diaper still in place in photo #3.

Looks like the fiber cover was removed. Not really missing much. You could replace it but I wouldn't waste my money.

Mine fell off within the first year of ownership. have seen at least a half dozen trucks on the road, cover flapping in the breeze.

Rustybolts,

You're not missing anything. The FX4 package has the skid plates.. A plain 4x4 package does not.

If you want FX4 skid plates you can buy and install yourself. Plenty of information on parts and installation. Just google.
