Default Side steps an easy add-on?

If the truck I'm looking for on the lots doesn't have the bed side steps, I'm guessing that is a pretty easy add-on/order from Ford? I know its a $325 add to a build...I assume Ford gets you for more if you buy from a dealer (assuming they can be added on)?

Very easy add on. About $800 after leaving the factory

Hack saw and file to smooth out the edges, they might just work. Actually I think Ford should have just have extended them a couple feet so they would have a dual purpose cab/bed step. But it would be ugly.

I'm sure more under the category of "one more thing to break"...but the 16 Sierra's with the power boards have a nice dual function where you tap it with your foot, and it swings around as a bed step

The side steps are a really nice option to have. Originally I tried to find a truck without them to save myself the $325, but they are actually very useful.

There's a used set in the classified setion.. He wants $500 for the pair! but thats still cheaper than buying them from Ford.
