Added 2.5" leveling kit and 285/75 Nitto G2s on plasti dipped 18" OEM rims. No rubbing even at full lock over a curb.

Being E-load, I feel the bumps a bit more than stock tires. Hard to say on MPG hit as I forgot to reset fuel economy. I'm about 5mph faster than what's displayed at hwy speed. Any noticeable economy decline going to 34~35" tires from stock?

Thanks,
Mike

About $5/can plus a roll of 3" tape. 3 cans was enough to do 4 rims and logos/badges.

Don't sand before using plastic dip, just clean the area really well. The great thing about plastic dip is that if you get tired of the look, you just peel it off. If you sand the parts, they will look like crap if you ever remove the dip.

No sanding, just a good wipedown. I used isopropyl alcohol. Many light coats. I think I did 5 or 6 coats. Easy to fix if you mess it up later down the road. Check out YouTube, lots of good info. I did a set of rims on my 05 f150...lasted for well over 3 years to incluse a lot of mud and occasional pressure washing.

I dont really see why someone would want to plastidip their new truck, looks kinda ghetto to me, but to each their own.

The biggest problem with plastidip is that most people leave it on way too long, if you are going to do this you're supposed to peel it off every 6 months. If you live somewhere hot you will need to do it more often. If you don't it will chip off and you will be peeling for ever.

Living in Arizona, I never peeled and reapplied in over 3 years on a previous truck. They have been covered with mud and pressure washed multiple times with no chipping or peeling. Guess I got lucky.
