Default Shocks and Struts vs Leveling Kit

My 20 inch rims come in Tuesday and I am thinking of going ahead and putting new shocks and struts on. I read that leveling kit is basically a waste of time. If I upgrade the shocks and struts will I need to upgrade anything else? Plus this will raise my vehicle at about 2 inches correct? (Front). Can I get away with just doing the front? How much does it normally cost to ibstall these? Thanks

Spacers and coilovers, [struts] are both used for leveling a truck. Either are acceptable. Coilovers, you get new springs and hardware, and a simple direct fit.
Spacers are the cheaper way to go.
Then there are the type that you replace the shock with one that has grooves, and circlips, to give you variable of lift.
I think you are aware that struts and shocks are two different things?
Many of us do call coilovers struts as well. But a strut is a whole different critter.

I was looking at the complete coilover kit, but a lot of what i see are drops. I just wanted it to do the same job as the spacer would, but wanted to avoid the headache of having to do supporting mods outside of an alignment. I see American Trucks has some eibachs for about 150. If I get two of those and call it a day , there would be no need to upgrade the springs (stock) and rears too right? Or am I going about this the wrong way?

I'm not a big fan of Eibach or Bilstein, the finish on their shocks coilover sucks, in a good northern winter will start corroding the bodies.
I am a fan of coilovers, and whenever I do a redneck kids truck, I "TRY" to talk them into going that way. But I guess their wallets won't allow it.
The coilovers will take pretty much the same labor, and requirements, as a spacer, in other words, an alignment. But, as mentioned, you get everything new, and the shock and springs are made for each other.
One brand of coilovers I like and recommend for a starter set, are the Fox 2.0's. Not overly expensive, but still a quality item. There are cheaper ones, but you know the saying about getting what you pay for.
