Default Serious Rust Issue 2015 XLT f150

So my 2015 XLT crew cab 3.5 eco boost has some serious amounts of rust on the rear axle. I only noticed this because my friend with a 2015 platinum called me today because he found even more then me. Is anyone else having this issue? His is so bad all the bolts and everything steel is starting to rust, and I mean bad! His truck has 300 miles mine just hit 3000. What can I do?

That's not bad, both my new F-150's looked like that. It's rust, not corrosion so just ignore it. Ford won't do anything about it anyway, just like any other manufacturer. I understand the aggravation because it's not something you expected. I was the same way but decided to not crawl under the truck anymore. lol

Yeah looks like he posted here as well. To be honest if I knew it was going to rust like that I would have walked away from the deal.

Sand off the rust and coat them with POR-15. You'll never have a problem with them again.

My 2001 has no rust at 15 years old.

I'd be pissed if my new truck had rust anywhere.
That is unacceptable.

Agreed.

Shorty after I received my truck I went around with POR-15 and covered any spot that was either bare metal or already had rust. looks good after 9 months.

Is this your first vehicle?

This is neither serious, nor an issue. Get a can of spray on if you're concerned about the cosmetics of your rear axle.
