Security alarm
I'm considering a new F150 and have been learning a lot about them here. I appreciate the info that is shared here. I went by a dealer lot a few days ago after hours to look around and have a question about the security system.
I came across a truck with power running boards that was unlocked. I opened the door to see the operation of the boards and immediately the dash started "dinging". My first thought was that the alarm was about to go off. I closed the door and stepped back looking at the truck. Then it started, lights flashing and horn sounding. As if I had broken into it. I think it was a KR model.
I hung around a few minutes in case anybody came out and it only went through one cycle. Lasted about 30 seconds. What scenario could have caused this? Do you have to have your key fob with you to open an unlocked truck?
