Default Scratch inside window of 16 XLT

So I was going to make an appointment to get my front windows tinted this week. While cleaning this weekend I found a scratch inside my drivers side window. It's about 2 inches long, about 1/16 wide and just deep enough to grab with a fingernail. Is this something a tint shop can fill or buff/sand out? I have about 600 miles on the truck. Not sure if this would fall under any kind of ford warranty or anything.

Thanks!

Tough call.

This is why you need to inspect your truck thoroughly before taking delivery. The dealer can say they did and it wasn't there.

Your dealer may or may not try and cover it under warranty. Prepare for your window guy to do his best to hide it when he tints your windows.

Having said all that I would certainly try and see if they'll replace/repair? it under warranty.

Best of luck and update the thread when you have an answer.

Ok so I took it to the detailer today. They said it is a scratch and they have someone that can come out and polish/grind/buff it out and will do so free of charge. They warned me that at certain angles depending on the repair I may see a little distortion in the window. The alternative is to pay for a new window for $450.

I'd want to see another scratch they've repaired and see what it looks like. You might be better off with the scratch especially considering you're having the windows tinted.

What's going to be the least noticeable?

I talked to a tint company and he assured me the scratch would look worse with tint. I will ask to see another car that's a good idea.

You can't buff or polish a scratch out of the window ,ford dealer is giving you the BS,if you polish glass with a polisher and build up the heat in one spot you will shatter the glass.

Just me. I would let them fix it and thank them. Life is too short. If you missed it or you caused--who cares? Moving forward, if you decide to replace that side window, I get it done for $100.

You actually can buff out a small scratch in laminated glass. There are kits on Amazon for $25. You just need a power drill.

Why? They are doing it for free. If your not happy, I say go from there.
