It literally had everything mother nature could throw at it, and didn't miss a beat.
I should also mention we were in the middle of selling one house and buying another during this trip, so we essentially lived out of the truck and hotels for two weeks while we were gone.

Feeling they are safe and comfortable while all that unfolds is priceless. Memories from every trip fuel many our conversations at the table.
I like to look at someone's truck and appreciate it even if I would not want for myself some details or mods.
I like to see tan seats. They look more luxurious than my black seats, but I prefer the headache of dusting and vacuuming the seats every other day - it really is a 5 minute routine for my little OCD to keep the interior clean and organized!
Tan seats maybe would help on that ^^^, but wouldn't match the overall look of my truck, and I'd also be crossed to see slide marks on the passenger's side.

That's a nice story!
I related when you said it was heartbroken when you saw the rust on your previous ride and the bittersweet feeling on the initial ride home with the new one.
Been there! My old XLT had no speck of rust when I traded it in. I detailed and washed it so often that my wife was momentarily jealous of it, but was so reliable that eventually she turned that feeling into respect too!
But I wanted to add a few extras to her and "the boss" didn't want to give away family weekends out for sit-ups at home watching me modding it, so she offered to build me a new one with everything we wanted and the colour she'd pick. Well, it was impossible to say no, survived anxiety for 3 months, but felt heartbroken and unloyal to "happy_me" (yep, she had a name!) when I drove her to the dealership to say goodbye and that feeling lingered into roughly 10 months of new ownership when several factors changed my experience.
Did the lumbar mod on my seat and gained "never-felt" comfort in long trips and the powertrain broke-in and stampedes have been happening...
"Happy_me" is always remembered on the way better seats and unladen ride, but "LeadFoot" (original name eh?) is finally making up for every single extra feature now.

I forgot to mention a small detail, that for me.. is the best feature of the interior and that's the addition of a Dead Pedal.
I've heard it all before when I used to install one from an 80's Mustang, that guys have no comfort issues, without one and it was a useless thing to add.
Well once you have a place for your left foot to rest on, it's not the same without one.
I've never been more comfortable now with my left foot resting on that while holding on to the floor shifter.
Gives me a nice locked in feeling.

Maybe it is something frugal to many and never talk about these things in here, but these little details can refine our feel of a comfortable ride.
My thoughts then migrated to the folding headrests on the back seats!
Ever thought of this usually overlooked detail as well?
I like a lot to look through the inside rearview mirror and keep an eye on the traffic behind, trying to antecipate maneuvers and everything is so much easier thanks to the folding headrests. The back view is plentyful even if we have some of it taken by the bed.

LMAO
Isn't your post the most perfect CARICATURE of this whole Forum?
This really is an online complaints department!
I cannot believe that all the people that come here don't have anything good to post about their trucks in any given day!
I started this thread because I was constantly being asked by friends and family of how really bad the F150 was. They know that I spend so much time in here and when they read beside me the avalanche of problematic posts they cannot conclude any other way.
I explained that is not the case, problems happen and it is just members sharing events and trying to find solutions for them.
But I think I am completely wrong and it is really an unhappy crowd meeting!
Oh well, I'll be on the right side!!

After reading your post I was thinking of how much I never noticed that detail in the truck. Then, I remembered of how I used to drive my '13 with my left leg all over the place, sometimes slightly bent under my right one and on this Gen I mostly keep my foot there, where you pointed out!

With these seats being half as thick, especially the head rest's I completely forgot that they move forward.
I used to keep the passenger side halfway forward to be out of the way of my right rear Scab window.
These aren't in the way, right off, and I just looked and both are straight up. Or, they were..
Thanks buddy!

Gratitude post
As one of the unfortunate (few?) that have the ecorattle, I like this thread about saying what we are thankful for with our trucks! I am thankful for the truck safely hauling my family and our 7000 lb trailer through the rocky mountains so we could have the camping trip of a lifetime. I am also thankful for this forum and the great folks on it. I will also be very thankful if Ford fixes the rattle!
