Default Safe to wash?

Hello i just wanted to ask you guys if its safe to wash everything under the hood with pressure water? I live in a very hot country and its very dusty sometimes, i also take my truck off-roading every now and than in the desert so that just adds to how dirty everything is under the hood.

Anyways my question is:
Is it safe to wash with pressure water?
Will it being dusty snd dirty effect anything?

Thank you guys in advance!

DO NOT do that. Since it is just dust. Water in a spray bottle and a towel.

It's not going to affect anything other than your air filter. If it's that dusty make sure you check the air filter often and replace as necessary. May also want to make sure the radiator is kept clean along with the inter cooler (if it's an Ecoboost).

I wouldn't personally wash the engine compartment with direct high pressure water due to the risk of damaging electrical components and connectors, but if you cover the fuse panel and any other obvious electrical components you should be able to coat with a cleaner and then hose off at moderate pressure from a hose without any issues.

Blow the dust off with a leaf blower...has worked great for me for several decades. Then, detail the engine bay 1 or 2 times a year.

Just an FYI too...WD40 works great for detailing engine compartments. Surprisingly so.

I reside in the north Willamette Valley...in retirement I play all over the west coast, Hawaii, and the old Confederacy. However, I'm not into arcade or any other games.

Should you detail... your engine... with something flammable?
