Default Routing usb cable from cubby to left of center stack

I've used ProClips tethered iPhone cradles for a number or years now and really like the ability to drop the phone in and keep it charging or connected to the media system while also at hands reach and visible (for Google Maps / Waze).

Not many Vehicle specific mounts out there anymore - ProClips for the F150 may be acceptable from an aesthetics perspective and would put it at a good location - but the issue is cable routing of the USB / Lightening cable - I don't want it just dangling down to the "cubby" - has to look as close to factory as it can.

Any suggestions for where to run the cable and then how to remove as little trim as possible to do so?

I had hoped to tackle this project this weekend. It didn't get there - there are some other threads here where guys have pulled the center stack open to get to the head unit. I think with that info I'll have what I need - planning tinriute the cable up to the "cubby" on the dash, likely making a notch on the side of the lower part of the cubby for the wire to fit - and then run it down inside the console and pop out in the lower cubby.

Time has been my enemy lately but honestly I'm still trying to decide if I really want the phone sitting up that high as well.....

I loved the Pro Clip design for my 2012 F150, it used the useless cubby to the right of the radio! But, I hate theyre solution for the new bodystyle!

So I went with the Smart and Easy, magnetic mount. Heres a pic of both the proclip in my 12, and smart and easy in my 16!

Smart and easy mount, without my Note 5 on it...

I have a hard mount from Panavise that mounts just to the right of the screen but decided I didn't like that one as it was a bit far away and the passenger side would see all the mounting nuts on the back side - and cable routing was also questionable. Ford just did not want a clean phone cradle mount in this body style it seems
