Roush wheels
So I liked the Roush wheels on my Roush truck. Wife wanted black wheels on her Expedition. So I wondered what would happen.
Was not easy to order. Roush has a new design now. These are considered the old design Mickey Thompson, and only available through Roush.
Roush part number 118-1006-S and had to order the lugs also.
The Roush comes with 305-55-20 on these rims and I have Duratracs on the Roush right now.
Used the original size of 275-55-20 on the Expedition.
Expedition rims are 8.5 inches wide compared to these Roush rims that are 9 inch wide. They push out away from the truck just a bit more than stock with 44 offset.
I think it turned out as planned. Was not sure of the aggressive tread on an Expedition and wife tilted her head a bit at me, but later said she really liked the look.
If she did not like them, I was going to put them on another 2018 F-150 I have or maybe on a 2006 F-150 FX4.
Just a bit stiffer, and a tiny bit of added noise but work well so far.
No it was not the cheapest way to go, but the only black wheels I like. All paid for with Ford Rewards points I had accumulated.
Duratrac's, was not sure how aggressive they would look in this application, but turned out good. Wife said her truck looks mean now. I run Blizzaks in the winter anyway and put those on Nov 1. Run Blizzaks usually year round since she does not go that many miles a year and I can use the Duratracs for plowing snow on another truck if I need to. The Blizzaks hold up enough for 2 years year round and then get a new set and sell the old set to my employees cheap with 1/2 tread. I switch to Blizzaks on 2 other F-150 trucks I have due to ice in the midwest, the BFG's work well in snow, just sketchy on ice.
