Default Reverse sensor issue

I have a travel trailer and the hitch that I tow it with is a fair size hitch. Because of this whenever I put the truck in reverse the park aid beeps because the sensor picks up the hitch. Has anyone else experienced this? It's no big deal in that I can turn it off, but if anyone has another "fix" for it other than taking the hitch out of the receiver I'd love to hear it. I leave the hitch in all the time because it's saved me from damage on other vehicles at least 3 times when someone rear ended me. Their vehicle was damaged but mine was not.

My 2012 and 2015 both had the reverse sensors set off from my weight dist hitch being left in the truck, a "normal" drawbar didn't set off either trucks sensors. Since most of my towing is with my boat that doesn't have a WDH setup i finally just bought a normal drawbar with a 2 5/16" ball on it that i use for the boat and just leave in the truck most of the time. If i got something serious to pull then i bring the WDH back out from the garage and stick it in the truck. I never found any way to get it to not detect the WDH setup

That's pretty much the same thing I've decided. I like the hitch being there, and it is a WDH, because 3 times I've been rear ended (in other vehicles) and that hitch has done a great job protecting my truck.

My truck got rear ended about 15 years ago, dumb bitch hit me so hard it ripped the entire hitch platform right off of the frame rails of the truck... The back of the truck was in the air as she went underneath the back my truck. I was able to drive home, her not so much.

Then she actually had the ***** to ask me why I was stopped, I said where exactly do you expect me to go with a line of STOPPED cars in front of me...
