Lightbulb Reverse light mod idea

Okay, I'm tiptoe-ing in with a crazy idea I had this weekend...
I've bitched about the crappy lighting while backing up at night and I've read all kinds of ideas about adding lights here and there... but...

... what if you could mod a light to replace the Ford emblem in the tailgate???

I came up with it while watching the WSM cook the pork on Saturday... had a couple of cans left in the cooler and started daydreaming about well-lit driveways for backing, lol

Okay, flame on!

The problem with this "solution" is that if you have BLIS, the tail lights are sealed, so swapping out the reverse lights is a "no can do".

I had the Morimoto XB 921 bulbs in my cargo light above the truck bed... They did not light up the bed close to the cab, but instead the beams were focused more on the tailgate and onto the street behind me...

I didn't think much of it at the time, but if it was really dark one might be able to throw on the bed light and that might throw some extra light out back... I might have to put them back in and see if it makes a difference on the screen...

Pardon my ignorance, but the bed light comes on with reverse? Or you manually turn it on?

You would need to hit the button to the left of the wheel... I have not tried it personally, but with those bulbs they are almost a projector type bulb...
