There has to be a million threads out there in regards to changing bulbs to LED. I can't find too many reviews on reverse bulb replacement. I have seen two major companies, one being 4x4truckLEDS and the other diode dynamics. I'm looking for suggestions on the brightest backup bulb I can get without breaking the bank. Thank you in advance.

I purchased the 4X4 Truck LED CL70 for my '15 XLT 7 months ago. Do not recall $$, you will need to check his web site for cost,may have changed since my purchase. This was, at the time I made my purchase, one step down from the one with the most Lumens - mine is 700 Lumens which is major difference over EOM Halogen bulbs. I am certainly glad I made purchase - can see what is behind truck VS the originals. First time I backed out of the garage my wife thought the headlights were on. May not make much difference between these two vendors ?? I just can tell you the 4X4 ClaraLux CL70 work great for me, and no more dark areas when operating in reverse, and big positive for back up camera. I had to have something for getting boat out of the water onto boat trailer after dark. Did not want to add additional reverse lights under or cut into back bumper due to some launches are so shallow I sometimes have to get so far in water that bumper is in water - not good for lights or fuses. These CL 70 eliminated that problem for me. Would purchase again from 4X4 . Also replaced the halogen lights above the bed on either side of stop light with new Led's - less elec draw and heat impacting the plastic cover. My cover was damaged by the halogen bulbs and had melted right in front of each bulb. Read about issue in this forum, took truck in and dealer replaced plastic cover,but was going to use same halogen bulbs again. Told me he would replace bulbs with LED's if I purchased different ones - which I did and also very positive impact.

 

Go to Amazon and order your reverse LED lights. Just find the base # for your bulb, and then search the bulb number/led reverse lights. It should be the 3157 base..I ordered a pair for my 2018 (different bulb base) and they are extremely bright. No need to pay what some of these other companies want for the lights.

...hmm I bought this same set from Amazon and they did not fit into the socket, can you send me the exact link for the pair you bought for your 2018

 

Here is the link for the 2018 bulbs. They changed the base to a 7443 bulb for 2018. I did the same thing you did and ordered the 3157 bulbs and then found out they didn't fit.

 

I just ordered the ones from 4x4LED. Searching the forums I came across a post from them with a discount code and used that for an extra 10% off. Ordered the 900 lumen CL90, so we will see how bright they actually are.
