Is it at all possible to get a retractable, new or used, tonneau around the $700 mark?

 

Keep your eyes open locally for a used unit. I picked up a Pace Edwards aluminum retractable cover in great shape for $200 that normally retails for around $2,000!

 

It depends on how big of a market you live in for unusual used truck accessories. I suspect that you'll have to be very patient and check CL frequently as well as other sale sites. FB sale/swap groups are also useful and taking the place of CL for some folks.

I've had a retractable in the past and like my current cover better - Lomax dark grey aluminum tri-fold that seals very well and is easily removable to use the whole bed if needed. Got a very nice F150 forum discount by sending a PM to Truck Alterations.
