Default Replacing Step Pad

Hey All, I’m looking for a video on replacing the rear bumper step pad cover on my 2019 F-150 XL. Is this difficult to do? Do I have to take the bumper off?

Start by removing everything that's not part of the pad. Spare tire hole cover, trailer connector if any, license plate lights, back up sensors if equipped.

Start prying it off at one end, it's only clipped on by plastic tabs into slots in the steel bumper. Installation of a new pad would be the reverse by just pressing it into those slots from one end of the bumper to the other, gently so you don't collapse the tabs if they're not lined up with the slots in the bumper.

Pretty sure its just held on with clips. May be easier to remove if you remove the bumper from the truck but I don't know if its necessary. I found a video that may help.

Thank You. I have a slight bump in the cover, by the hitch, from the previous owner. I thought with heating it up a little I could press it back into shape, but I believe the metal part of the bumper is creased up causing the bump.

I was checking out that spot on my 2020 to possibly mount some LEDs. IIRC, in that spot there are no metal parts behind it.

There is a thin step plate under the plastic step pad in that area. Hopefully, the step plate on yours isn't damaged or you might have to remove the step pad and fix it before you put a new step pad on or fix the old step pad and re-use it.
