Replacement rear shocks?
Just got my 18 f150 two months ago, but after reading a bunch on here I decided to upgrade the the fox 2.0 rear shocks. I liked how my truck rode stock but cornering and some handling over big bumps could get better. After installing the fox shocks sunday, the things I wanted improved did. But now I feel more of the small bumps in the road which my roads I drive are very bad. I don't really like the ride. Question is will they soften up over time? Or are Bilsteins 5100 a more smooth riding shocks?
You will “feel” more bumps with Fox 2.0/Bilstein 5100.
Pro: less body roll and more “control” when hitting bumps (basically more planted).
Con: you will feel more bumps as they are not “cushy” like stock.
Mine hasn’t soften up even after 20k miles. I ran 5100s on all 4 corners on my 2016 and love the way it stayed flat around corners, hitting hard bumps or bumps while cornering as the truck was more planted. But hitting small bumps in a straight line was a tad rougher. But it’s worth the trade off.
