Default Replacement LED rear lighting

Hello all,

New to the forum. Bought a '17 2.7 EB Sport about 6 months ago and have only been stalking. I did some research and watched some youtube vids, etc on LED lighting for the rear of the truck. Id like to replace the cargo, reverse, and license plate lights with LED bulbs. Can anyone give me some advice as to what to use and IF I should swap them out. Hate the look when it gets locked / unlocked and there is the lone LED puddle light for the back up camera and all the rest are halogen!

Thanks!

Lots of options for replacement leds, I just recently installed all vled products in my truck. I did the 5500k white light for cargo, then the triton v6 for front and rear turns. They perform better than anything I've tried transitioning from dim to bright. Most cheap leds are bright on dim but do not transition well enough to catch attention. The vleds are pricey when using their top tier triton v6 stuff, but they have a 3 year warranty and their customer service is great. They are stand alone bulbs so do not lock into place, but they still sit tight into housings went turned into housing. They are located in Washington which is nice to deal with a customer service in the united states. Sadly they are engineered in the united states but I'm sure they are China built.. 2nd place in my book is the sylvania zevos they seemed to perform really well in the taillights, but lacked the front turn signals for some reason the amber isn't as bright.

For the 3rd brake light you could upgrade to a Lariat 3rd brake light....if you wanna stay with your halogen unit like others have said Diode Dynamics has some pretty awsome led replacement bulbs. I now have a Raptor 3rdBL, but I still have my original halogen 3rdBL that has Diode Dynamics for the brake as well as for the puddle lamps. Very nice light output! I obviously don't have a need for it any longer so if you are interested we could work something out. MINT condition as it came off at 7K miles

As others have said, Diode Dynamics is the way to go. We run their products on all of our trucks. We'd be happy to get you setup with a full LED conversion on your truck. Let us know if we can help!

+1 on the Vled tritons. Have had them in my old Ranger for 7 years and in my 2015 for almost 5 years, front TS, rear brake/TS and reverse. great performance..

Diode dynamics stuff is top notch, like their low beam and high beam bulbs. They actually make those themselves inhouse. I "believe" their replacement bulbs (7443,921,3156,3157) are packaged with their name from other wholesale replacements? It looks like the same type of bulbs you can find on ebay or amazon. I heard rumors of them actually designing their own turns, reverse, and taillight bulbs, but I haven't seen the release of anything. I saw a picture and they looked like a sylvania zevo style with no forward facing led chips.

Is there any difference between the LED replacement lights at Autozone and the ones online? Other than I assume the online lights are a little cheaper?

The people at autozone said some people need to add a diode to run LED replacement rear lamps- others don't?

I have a 2016 XLT
