I bought my truck used and it has the chrome mirror caps. Rest of the truck is black - I’m replacing the front chrome bumper soon so a lot of this awful chrome will be coming off. Looking to get as much off as I can elsewhere too while I’m at it.

Has anybody replaced these or painted them? Suggestions on which route to go?

 

I replaced my black trim colored mirror caps with matching silver ingot. Got a set on eBay from a dealer...paint job was perfect and the install was quick. Just need a trim removal tool and a bit of force. There’s a few videos on YouTube showing how to pop them off.
