Default Replace front emblem without removing grille?

Does anyone know if it's possible to remove the front Ford oval emblem on a 2015 Lariat sport without having to remove the whole grille? I'm considering replacing the front and rear emblems with black painted emblems. The tailgate emblem looks easy enough to do, however I don't really want to go to the trouble of taking apart the front end to get the grille out. IMO not worth the trouble just for the very subtle change in aesthetics to change the dark blue part of the emblem to black. But if it can be done with the grille in place then I'm in.

Has anyone done this before or know if it's possible?

getting the grille out really isn't that hard and is the right way to do this.

Yeah, agreed, doesn't look that hard. But like I said, not sure it's worth the trouble then, just for the slight change in aesthetics. Not really into the idea of starting to pull apart my brand new truck.

So sounds like it's necessary then?

Yes, it's necessary.

You could probably try to find a way up through the bumper or down through the core support but it just isn't worth it.

Push pins for the flap on top of the core support, 3 screws in each wheel well, pull the trim off, remove the bolts, pop the headlamp out, couple more bolts to pull the grille and you can do whatever you need to do.

You'll need a minimum 10" 3/8 drive socket extension to reach the last bolt for the headlights. Good news is it's one of the bolts that you'd need out to remove the grille anyway.

Alright, thanks for the help. Looks like that may be what I'll need to do then, if I decide to do the emblems. I may replace the LED heads at some point with the black ones from the '16 special edition package. So may wait and do it all at once. Thanks again.

Headlight removal is not necessary for grille removal. I've done it four times now (removed/replaced grille) and never touched a headlight.

Booze, same process for a Platinum? Any specifics you know of for a Platinum?
