Default Remote tailgate operation with solid tri-fold

Hey Guys,

I have a undercover flex solid tri fold installed and sometimes the tailgate sticks and sometimes it does not when releasing it from the fob. It was loosened off, but other the loosening it too much not sure what else to do.....it takes little to no tension to hold it back....wonder if they could have designed to give it a bit more kick so that covers( which most have) don;t interfere with its operation.

any ideas..

If it opens just fine without a cover, Ford doesn't need to redesign the tailgate operation - the tonneau cover manufacturer needs to redesign the cover (or it needs to be installed correctly).

If you add thrust to the opening of the tailgate, what happens to those who don't have a cover or those who have covers that don't interfere with it opening? The tailgate would blast open and slam harder?

It is a little trick to get the cover placement to be just right in the front and back. When I was satisfied the rubber flap at the tailgate just laid down it with no pressure. The front has to be correct to get the seal properly in place.

I have this cover as well and have had zero issues unless it is frozen by ice and snow. I agree that it is a little tricky to get it installed just perfect.

I don't think most guys have covers on their trucks... Unless it's a ford accessory cover, I bet ford doesn't give a s$@t.
