Default Remote start question

New to me 2015 Lariat with remote start. First time I tried it Left all a/c features in the desired on position. Did the remote start and started truck. Got in and the a/c controls were unlit until I hit the start control.

Is this normal? If so doesn't it defeat the remote start feature?

Mine does the same thing. The control lights do not come on until the start button is pushed. During the remote start it will heat up or cool the interior based on the outside temp and heat the steering wheel if it is cold out. Once started, I need to turn the heated steering wheel on if I want it to stay heated.

Normal

Also you should (assuming '15 is the same) be able to go through settings and set it to use either the last HVAC settings you used or the default based on ambient temp. I choose defeault which IIRC will just set it to 72* and do what needs done

I don't remember seeing any remote start settings on my truck. Will need to look for them, I guess. I always turn HVAC off before shutting truck off. Plus I never use the auto feature, but temp is set at 72. Not sure what happens with HVAC if I use the remote start. Any guesses?

It's under advanced settings in the gauge cluster. The first two are advanced settings and vehicle settings (forget exact order), then remote start, and then you can pick AUTO or Last Setting.

It's probably on AUTO, and if you have it switched to last setting, it probably comes on to 72 is my guess

Why do you turn hvac off?
