Default Remote Start: Auto vs Last Setting

I obviously know what Last Setting means, but what is the Auto setting in the remote start menu?

means it will turn on heat or ac depending on ambient air temp. same goes for seats and defrosters

On my 18 Lariat 502, it means that the climate control will do it's own thing based on outside and inside temperature. Right now it means the seat and wheel heat on, in the summer it turns on the seat vent and ac.

For me the answer is yes. I mostly use remote start on cold mornings, so having the seat and wheel heat on is nice. During normal driving and most evenings when I get home, the seat and wheel heat are off, so for me auto is best.

Does "auto" run the windshield defrost or what exactly does it blow air out of? And what fan speed does it use?

I have mine on "last" but of course have to make sure to remember to turn the heat to high and the fan all the way on when I get home. Mostly concerned with defrosting the windshield in the morning. If Auto does that pretty well I might try it out.

Yes mine will put the windshield defrost on using the Auto setting, at a pretty good fan speed. I don't recall if it's on full blast or not but it's certainly not at the low setting. I often times end up turning the heat down when driving and forget to turn it back up, so having mine on Auto is great to start the rear window and windshield defrost, with the seats warming up nicely.

I really don't see the purpose of Last Setting, odds are you were driving more than 10-15 minutes and ended up turning down the heat, the defrost off and the seats to 1 or none because the truck was warm.

Mine turns on defrost for the windshield, mirrors, and rear glass when it's cold out. It does not turn on max defrost, just standard defrost. Normally I have to manually switch it to max defrost to finish the job.
