Default Remote Start AC

my 2016 F150 has remote start and AC turns on, which sweet and totally love but it would be nice if it stayed on after you put the key in the ignition, sucks that it just turns off. So is there a way to keep the AC on after you put the key in the ignition?

It will revert back to the last setting you had it on before shut down. If you leave the a/c on it will stay on after remote start.

Apparently not. OP is stating that when he puts the key in the ignition, the A/C that started with remote start turns off, and he has to turn it on again.

The OP did not say that he left the A/C on when he shut it off so the status of the A/C from the post is not clear. OP: Are you saying if you have the A/C on when you turn the key off. Then turn the key back on after remote start the A/C does not come back on after the system boots. If it does not revert to the last setting before key off then you have something wrong.

There's two modes with the remote start. One is "Auto" which sets the temp to 72F and is either AC or defrost (with medium-ish fan) depending on ambient exterior temperature. The second setting is whatever mode and temp when you left the vehicle.

The setting is found somewhere on the driver display.

Those settings only affect the remote start and should have no bearing on the system after turning on the ignition. If the If the A/C is left on when shutting off the ignition then it should come back on regardless of the remote start settings. If it does not then there is an issue the dealer needs to address. From the manual:

REMOTE START (If Equipped)

The remote start feature allows you to pre-condition the interior of your vehicle. The climate control system works to achieve comfort according to your previous settings.

Note: You cannot adjust the system during remote start operation.

Turn the ignition on to return the system to its previous settings. You can now make adjustments normally, but you need to turn certain vehicle-dependent features back on, such as:

Heated seats.

Cooled seats.

Heated steering wheel.

Heated mirrors.

Heated rear window.

You can adjust the default remote start settings using the information display controls. See Information Displays (page 105).

Automatic Settings

In hot weather, the system is set to 72°F (22°C). The cooled seats are set to high (if available, and selected to AUTO in the information display).

In moderate weather, the system either heats or cools (based on previous settings). The rear defroster, heated mirrors and heated seats do not automatically turn on.

In cold weather, the system is set to 72°F (22°C). The heated seats are set to high (if available, and selected to AUTO in the information display). The rear defroster and heated mirrors automatically turn on.
