Default Remote Access add on

Dealer couldnt answer this question. On ford acc site you can buy the add on to have this feature but it lists needed 2 parts. I have the perimiter plus with 2 stage shock sensor already added. It came from dealer this way. My question that the dealer couldnt answer is do I only need the second piece of add on equipment. And can I enable this with forscan or does the dealer have to do that.

I doubt you will be able to enable it with the Forscan tool. I am betting the second part you will need is a way to receive and send the Cell phone signal and a contract with a cell carrier for it. I had one on my FJ Cruiser I installed (Viper System) I loved it when I was traveling. I would come back from Mexico City (80 Degs) to Cleveland (10 Degs) and started my FJ from baggage claim. Other then those few times I used the keyfob because it was faster to work. The cell phone app needs to go to the cell phone tower then the tower needs to find the other cell phone (truck) then the truck has to decipher the signal. Cool gimmic but not worth the money.

That's what you need, dealer can activate it over the phone once you install it. I have it and love it. Very sweet setup.

Some plain wrong info here.

If you have the VSS (perimeter plus with 2 stage shock), you can see it plugged into your OBD port. It actually replaces the port with one on a cable, and the VSS module is likely wire tied onto your heating duct that exits on left side of the dash.

If that's the case, then the ONLY module you need is the cellular module, correctly linked to by Texas Fording - but NOT the VSS module listed in that thread.

YOU enable it with Forscan, the selling dealer will go in and active the SIM card over the phone once you're ready to go, and give you a 4 digit PIN that you will then use to setup an account and connect the vehicle to that account.

Firecadet's link is for both modules also. Based on what you said, you only need 1. Call Fairway Ford and get a price on it.

I have the shock sensor for sure its actually 3M industrial velcrod to the parking brake bracket. I moved it there since it was loosely zip tyed to a wiring harness and kept falling down while I was driving.I have it set as sensitive as it can get. so when you grab a door handle it will chirp the horn.
